0x (ZRX) Becomes First Ethereum-based Token Listed on Coinbase Pro

Coinbase Pro, the professional trading platform of crypto exchange Coinbase, has announced its first ever listing of an ERC-20 token 0x (ZRX) as a trading pair.

0x (ZRX) is an open, permissionless protocol that allows businesses to tokenise assets and transfer them in a decentralised digital environment.

As a result of the announcement, holders of the ZRX token were able to stay in the green during yesterday’s down market that saw $15 billion wiped off the total market capitalisation of cryptocurrencies.

The token gained over 30% at one stage before falling back to more modest single figure gains on the day.

Further positive news for 0x could also soon be forthcoming as the Coinbase Pro blog post stated that although “…ZRX is not yet available through the coinbase.com website and in the Coinbase iOS and Android apps…. we will make a separate announcement when that occurs.”

A listing on the Coinbase exchange is generally regarded as beneficial for assets as Coinbase, the US’ leading cryptocurrency exchange, often operates as a gateway for newcomers to cryptocurrencies.

Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam is also an advisor to the 0x project and helped them to conclude a successful ICO in August last year which raised around $24 million.
