Messi Keepy Uppy Brings Sirin Labs $110m
The Sirin Labs ICO has already raised $110 million with 11 days still to go, smashing its $75 million target. The Swiss-Israeli venture had recently announced soccer superstar Lionel Messi as their global ambassador, bringing a new level of exposure to the blockchain phenomenon.
Solarin and Finney
Sirin Labs are best known for Solarin, the ultra-secure phone with an equally ultra purchase price that stood at $15,000 at launch.
They are now working on bringing the same level of security to the mass market with their FINNEY™ devices, described as the “first open source blockchain smartphone and all-in-one PC.” The technology is built on IOTA’s Tangle and the devices will offer fee-free transactions.
According to Sirin Labs, its first day of sale attracted pledges came from 5,600 people from around the world. “These are also potential clients,” Sirin CEO Moshe Hogeg said, “We think they will be the first to buy the phones.”
They will have to wait though, with the new products currently slated for release in late 2018.
Last week Sirin Labs announced that Lionel Messi would be its global ambassador and that they would “kick some goals together.”
